Eastbourne and Dover

ESTB01

Thick Cretaceous sediments -Chalk- are outcropped in many coastal areas in the UK. These Chalk depositions are ideal archives that can provide valuable information on the Cretaceous climate and environment. We collected Chalk samples from Eastbourne, Dover and some other localities with the purpose of picking out fossil fish teeth within these sediments, and retrieving information on the Cretaceous ocean circulation. You can find more details regarding this project here.
